adopting a village

"adopt a village" strategy brings hope to an impoverished community

Sierra Leone is one of the poorest countries in the world where less than half of the children are in primary school.  CEF is working with "Free The Children" to adopt a village in the Kono district, an area greatly affected by the country's 11-year conflict.  Through this program, the community will be empowered with infrastructure for a school, educational resources, and clean water and sanitation projects.  Free The Children will work closely with the village to help the community become economically sustainable and truly break the cycle of poverty for children and their families.
